Early lessons that shaped me
Growing up, I never realized we had very little financially. Looking back, I know we didn't have much, but I never felt poor. My parents taught me that the richest moments in life come from hard work, strong values, and spending time doing what you love with the people who matter most. Long before I understood money, I learned what real wealth looked like.
What I thought success meant
Early in my career, I measured success much like many colleagues do—by helping clients grow their portfolios. I took pride in seeing account balances increase and financial goals achieved. Those things still matter. But over time, working alongside families for decades changed my perspective. I began to notice something. Some clients reached the finish line they had worked so hard for—but never allowed themselves to enjoy it. They kept running the race long after they had already won. More wealth became the next goal, and then the next. The very freedom they had spent a lifetime building was always deferred to "someday."
What guides my advice today
When is enough, enough? When I realized wealth was never the destination. Its purpose is to create the ability to abundently live the life you've spent decades building. I began calling the final chapters of life your Victory Lap—not because the race is over, but because you've earned the opportunity to enjoy what you've accomplished. After more than three decades of working with successful families, I've come to believe one of the greatest responsibilities of a financial advisor isn't simply helping clients build wealth. It's helping them recognize when they've won the race they've been running for decades. Because the purpose of wealth isn't simply to keep running—it's to enjoy the Victory Lap you've earned while you still have the health, time, and freedom to make it the best chapter of your life. Helping clients define what that Victory Lap looks like—and giving them the confidence to truly live it—has become the most meaningful work of my career"

Never Settle...But Learn to Be Content
The greatest irony I've observed over three decades is that many people spend their entire lives pursuing abundance without ever allowing themselves to live abundantly.
Know When You've Won
One of the greatest privileges of my career has been helping families build wealth. One of the greatest responsibilities has been helping them realize they've already won. Because the best part of the race isn't crossing the finish line—it's having the freedom to enjoy the Victory Lap that follows.
Never Forget Where You Came From
Wealth shouldchange your opportunities. Not your values. One of the greatest gifts my parents gave me wasn't financial. It was perspective.
